Welcome to Spanish for Fun with Helen on the Isle of Wight!

Lovely, lively Spanish lessons have now started in several venues across the Island and new learners are welcome to join.

We offer FUN, stress-free lessons with no exams and no compulsory homework in relaxed but highly structured and effective classes, where a large part of the lesson is spent talking to other learners.

With small classes (maximum of 12 students) where everyone feels welcome and at ease to speak and learn the language, our conversations have been created specifically for adults and we try to create a relaxed atmosphere, where we make sure that everyone feels able to join in.

Our classes will provide you with a very good opportunity to socialise, meet new people and brush off the stress of daily routines…all while learning something new!

Hi! I’m Helen thanks for being interested in Spanish classes with Language for Fun on the Isle of Wight! I have a degree in International Development and Spanish language which I studied for later in life as a “mature” student. I truly believe in lifelong learning and the old adage that you’re never too late to start learning something new. I’d always been fascinated in languages and had a slight regret that I’d never developed my schoolgirl French so when I had the opportunity to learn Spanish as a beginner at university when I was 40 years old, not only did I take it, but I loved it! I ended up spending 4 years living and working in Spain and qualifying as an MFL Teacher. Learning Spanish literally changed my life! I started teaching Spanish locally to adults online during Covid, and now, I teach in-person classes on the Island. I can’t wait to help you start, or continue your own Spanish language journey. My classes are very informal, fun and relaxed, and focusing on conversation, you’ll soon build your knowledge and confidence alongside supportive and friendly like-minded people. Come along and see for yourself!
