Buongiorno!
I am a native speaker from a small town in Northern Italy, near Turin. I am an art historian, and have studied and worked as a tour guide in Florence for a few years before moving to the UK, where I now work in museums while completing my PhD in art history.
My passions are Italian art and culture (and food, of course!) and I would love to teach you this beautiful language. With the right method it's fun, rewarding, and easier than you might think!
I am an Italian native speaker, born in Como, near the famous lake! I have been living in the UK for almost 7 years, where I have obtained my master's degree in English Literature. I also hold a bachelor's degree in Italian and Latin languages and literatures.
I am fluent in Italian and English and conversational in French and Spanish, and I am currently studying Polish!
I am very passionate about learning and teaching languages, but most importantly about connecting with people of different cultures. I started doing private tutoring when I was 16, and throughout the years I have tutored students of all ages - from primary school students to adults – in Italian, English, and Latin. I always tailor my classes to the students' needs, interests, and learning pace.
A few fun facts about me: I have visited 47 countries in 4 continents so far, I have volunteered as an English teacher in Vietnam and as a translator in Jerusalem, I run an online book club, I do yoga, and I am a Morris dancer!
Ciao Everyone, My name is Marco, and I'm originally from Rome, Italy.
My path hasn't been a straight one. I've worked as a field archaeologist, run my own e-commerce businesses, and more recently trained as a UX designer, a discipline entirely built around understanding how people think, what they need, and how to make things click for them. Teaching Italian, it turns out, isn't so different.
I'm a native Italian speaker with an academic background in research. Moving to England and navigating daily life in a second language has given me a real, firsthand understanding of how challenging, and how rewarding, learning a new language can be. That experience shapes how I teach: with patience, empathy, and no judgement for the mistakes that are just part of the process.
I adapt every lesson to the student in front of me: their pace, their goals, their reasons for learning. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to get more confident in conversation, I'll meet you where you are.
A few things about me beyond teaching: I've spent years studying how people interact with the world around them, and I'm still genuinely curious about almost everything.
I'll do my best to keep the lessons fun and relaxed, more conversation and curiosity than textbooks and grammar drills
Hello everyone! I am an Italian native speaker. I am from Alba, south of Torino, in Piemonte. As you might already know, Alba is famous for the white truffle, Ferrero chocolates and fantastic wines. I have been living in St Albans for 22 years.
I have been teaching Italian to learners of all levels in the UK. I run Italian clubs in two Primary schools in St Albans. I tutor students for GCSE. I teach adults Italian conversation and culture.
In my free time I enjoy cooking, Zumba, pickleball and pilates, I also love reading and I have been part of a book club for many years. I have recently started learning how to play Mahjong and I love it!
Claudia is a very friendly, enthusiastic Italian lady from Sardinia. She's lived in the UK since 1998, and she moved to St Albans from London in 2003 with her family but she, of course, considers herself very Italian! Having studied English and French language and literature at Universita' di Cagliari, she started teaching in 2012 in two local primary schools, where she still runs "Italian club". Claudia also teaches primary and secondary courses partly funded by the Italian embassy for Italian families in the area, run by the Italian school in London (SIAL) once a week. She does private tuition every evening for young and older children (including GCSEs) and adults. Fortnightly, she hosts "Conversazione in Italiano", an Italian conversation practice group, at Sopwell house.
Claudia is very passionate about her work and she's very excited to continue her adventure with "Language for fun", having covered some lessons for a friend a few years ago."
