Welcome to Italian for Fun with Paula & Emanuel on the Isle of Wight!

We are a small, locally run language school (opened 2019) and we pride ourselves on the personal approach. When you enquire about learning Italian with us, we talk to you personally and help you choose the best course, from Italian beginners to Italian Improvers or Advanced Italian. We won't just make you sign up online and take your money in advance - we'll let you pay for just one class and then you can decide if you want to carry on.

Lovely, lively Italian lessons available in several venues across the Island and new learners are welcome to join.

Our Italian courses are run in groups that are much smaller than other colleges. We have a highly structured curriculum which has been specifically designed for adult learners who want to learn Italian for fun as a hobby, and we focus on speaking and communication skills. You don't have to do homework unless you want to, and we are convinced that making friends and enjoying the social side is just as important as the progress you make.

Our Italian Beginners course is perfect if you've never done any Italian before, but there are also the right courses for those who have done Italian to a higher level and need to dust it off a bit! We go right through with our own bespoke curriculum to Advanced and beyond so there's something for you even if you are a hardened Italian speaker and want some advanced conversation classes.

From a very young age she showed an interest in foreign languages and history, excelling in those subjects in her degree, she became a Tour Leader and Travel Agent which allowed her to travel the world, not only discovering new places but also new cultures and so many interesting people. She is a people's person and thrives when sharing her knowledge with others, be it a foreign language, that special recipe, some salsa moves or just general culture. She loves to cook, dance and travel and she considers herself as a citizen of the world!

After living in several different countries and more than 30 years working in travel and tourism and teaching in French, Spanish, Portuguese, English and Italian, she packed her bags and landed on the Island in the sun-soaked summer of 2018. Why, you ask? Besides missing the sea, Paula wanted to develop new projects and is now hoping to sprinkle some linguistic magic with her own cosy, warm, fun and friendly language school: Wight Languages!

But languages don't come on their own, so there's a world of things she would like you to try, from typical food, traditional dance, singing to karaoke in foreign languages, and enjoy happy moments amongst new friends!
