learners who already have a fair bit of basic knowledge (counting, greetings, basic vocab to do with directions, places around town, holidays…) or perhaps a GCSE in their distant past and who wish to build up new vocabulary and sentences that they will be able to use straight away in real-life conversations. The group is small, our approach is relaxed and there is always time for questions, explanations and lots of pronunciation practice!
I provide all the materials you need and once enrolled, you’ll have access to extra online revision, videos and exercises to reinforce what you learn in class.
Continuing after the Easter break, Improver 1 covers how to talk about what you’re doing now (the Present) and what you’ll be doing in the future (Future tense). Then we’ll move on to learning how to talk about what you’ve done in the past…
The emphasis is on communication, not perfection!
If you think that this course may suit you, you’re welcome to join us for a free taster lesson.

Right from my first French lesson as an 11 year old schoolgirl, I knew that I loved this beautiful, poetic language. I graduated from UCNW Bangor with a Joint Honours Degree in French and Latin, followed by Postgraduate Teacher Training, then in between raising a family, I taught French in North Wales, East Yorkshire and more recently, the Wirral. For quite a few years my family has hosted French students who come to this area to study.
I’ve recently been learning Spanish from scratch, which has given me plenty of insight into language learning for adults.
