Ciao a tutti! I am a native Italian who has always been passionate about languages and travelling and I do believe that being able to speak the language of the place you are visiting makes the whole experience much richer, more authentic and fun.
I started learning English at primary school and went on to studying French and German at high school and then graduated in English and Spanish (language and literature) at university whilst moving to live in London where I have been for the past 16 years. I also left my comfort zone of European languages and attended an Arabic course, which was very interesting and fun, but challenging! Thanks to this course, I know what it means to start a language journey as a beginner!
My experience in teaching ranges from schoolchildren needing a hand with their homework, to university students struggling to pass their exams, to older people wanting to learn or improve a language for business or leisure. Regardless of their age and purpose for learning a language, I always encouraged my students to go beyond the textbooks and grammar exercises, and to have fun communicating. Grammar rules are necessary, but useless if you are afraid to communicate, so don't be shy and let's get talking!

After finishing High School in the small city where I was born in the North-East of Italy, my desire to leave and discover the world was huge. The first step toward this discovery was moving to Venice, where I studied Languages, Civilizations and Science of Language. These studies raised my knowledge about specific processes regarding language learning and teaching.
During my experiences abroad (in Spain and in the USA), I put into practice this knowledge by teaching Italian and English both to children and adults. Those experiences gave me the chance to appreciate the Italian culture even more and let people know that it is more than a ‘pizza’ and ‘ciao bella’.
When I moved to London to complete my Masters degree in Sociocultural Linguistics, I knew I wanted to continue to transmit Italian language and culture. I believe that teaching is an exchange: the tutor and the student, as equals, have equal amounts to share and learn from each other. I love the way that classes at Language for Fun are designed to guide people through the discovery of language in a lively, active and funny way. With this vision in mind, the message I always try to transmit is that language is the most powerful tool that we have and that learning and speaking a different language is a bit like opening your mind to new worlds and new possibilities. I hope you join me on this journey.
