Welcome to French for Fun on the Isle of Wight!

Lovely, lively French lessons will be starting in January 2024, first in Ryde but we hope to offer classes at different towns and venues in the future. New learners are welcome to join at any time.

We offer FUN, stress-free lessons with no exams and no compulsory homework in relaxed but highly structured and effective classes, where a large part of the lesson is spent talking to other learners.

With small classes (maximum of 10 students) where everyone feels welcome and at ease to speak and learn the language, our conversations have been created specifically for adults and we try to create a relaxed atmosphere, where we make sure that everyone feels able to join in.

Our classes will provide you with a very good opportunity to socialise, meet new people and brush off the stress of daily routines…all while learning something new!

Email helenc@languageforfun.uk for more information, or scroll down to send an enquiry form. (Helen Cooke is the licensee for Language for Fun Isle of Wight and deals with all the administration related to the courses but your French tutor is the lovely Valentine Bouchet, who you will meet in your first class)

Hi! I’m Valentine, I’m looking forward to meeting you in French classes with Language for Fun on the Isle of Wight!

I am a native French speaker and moved to the Island less than 2 years ago. I have a degree in Translation and another one in English language.

I have been passionate about languages my whole life and I am truly grateful to be using my language skills on a day to day basis.
I really believe that you’re never too late to start learning something new and learning new languages has been helping me not only speak a new language but also discover a different culture.

I have enjoyed my language learning journey so much that I decided to qualify as a TEFL teacher a few years ago and started using my newly-learned skills to teach French to adults on a one-on-one basis.

I now can’t wait to help you start, or continue your own French language journey.

I hope my classes will help you build up your skills and confidence to reach the goals you have set up for yourself and I look forward to seeing you soon!
