Once a term, we gather to watch a French film with English subtitles. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience French cinema, improve your listening skills, and connect with fellow French learners and enthusiasts.
For our next outing, join us on Thursday, 13th February for a screening of The Goldman Case. This riveting French courtroom drama follows the heated 1975 trial of French left-wing intellectual and activist Pierre Goldman (Arieh Worthalter). Accused of multiple crimes including two murders, Goldman proclaims his innocence. Considered to be the trial of the century, the Goldman case divided an entire country and widened the gap between the conservative right and left-wing intelligentsia. Dir. Cédric Kahn, 1hr 56mins, French with subtitles.
Before the movie, we’ll meet at a local café for an hour of conversation and drinks to set the tone for an enjoyable evening.
