Spanish - Beginner

Language for Fun is fun! Just the right combination of new things to learn, spoken language and revision in a relaxed atmosphere where you can challenge yourself if you want to.

Language for fun has got us through lockdown and given us something to look forward to! Megan, our teacher, is lovely and very approachable; she encourages us to ask questions.

During lockdown the Zoom Spanish course has been a lifesaver - something to look forward to each week. Megan, our tutor, has been very encouraging and I always feel uplifted at the end of the session.

The lessons are really fun and interactive, a great way to learn a new language and miles apart from the way I learnt languages at school with textbooks. There are lots of topics to get us talking the language to each other, which is great for giving me the confidence to start speaking Spanish. The lessons are on Zoom have been amazing and worked really well with a mixture of group and partner working. Our teacher, Megan, is very passionate about Spanish and makes the sessions fun, engaging and relaxed - a great environment for learning and not feeling daft about asking questions or making mistakes.

I am learning the second set of beginners Spanish. The lessons are delivered on Zoom. We have a lovely, enthusiastic, encouraging teacher (Meg), and the lessons are good fun and relaxed.

What I love about my lessons is how supportive everyone is. It is ok to get things wrong, it is ok to make mistakes and everyone helps each other. I like that we have (non-compulsory) homework and we get to go away and research things for ourselves and I enjoy the practice sessions so that we can work on our pronunciation. Megan is great, she is really supportive.

I always looked forward to my Spanish lessons with Meg - but now that I’ve got a bit of Spanish under my belt, catching up with my classmates is like having a gossip with old friends! It’s the closest I get to socialising since COVID! Love every minute.

Attending my online, weekly Language for Fun class, has been one of the more steadying and positive aspects of an otherwise disturbing year. Combining manageable chunks of work and covering useful and enjoyable topics, Language For Fun has been very valuable for me, at a time when adult language courses appear to be in serious decline.
