people who have done some French before and are comfortable using the present, past and future tenses. We’ll be looking at a mix of every-day and cultural themes! We’ll really work on building your vocabulary, learning and practising how to talk in different time frames, improving your pronunciation and understanding of French – in a relaxed, non-pressurised environment. There will be plenty of opportunities to practise conversations with the other members of the group.
My love of French started from a young age when on holiday in France and continued throughout school and university leading to a degree in modern languages.
My first couple of graduate jobs involved working in the contracts sections of two different tour operators; giving me ample opportunity to make the most of my language skills both by phone and face to face contracting with various hoteliers, apartment owners and transport businesses.
I then chose to complete a PGCE and worked as a language teacher at secondary level for over twenty years. It was during this time that I was inspired to develop my knowledge of Spanish; I'd done a basic introduction at school and had the rudiments but decided to take it further via a combination of residential courses in Spain and intensive evening courses at my local university. I can safely say I understand what it is to be an adult learner!
More recently I have tutored adult learners. I have lots of experience at all levels: from beginners through to A level.
Work and leisure opportunities have allowed me the pleasure to travel extensively throughout France and Spain, as well as living for a year in Normandy.
