French - Beginner

Hi! I’m Oliver, a passionate language teacher originally from Brussels, Belgium. With a French father and a Belgian mother, I grew up surrounded by expressions from both France and Belgium, as well as a fairly neutral accent — something that later led me to work in cartoon dubbing, where a neutral French accent is often required. I have a deep appreciation for linguistic diversity and love sharing that with my students.

I speak several languages at different levels: French, English, Dutch, Portuguese, and a little Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, and Italian. I studied English at EF London in 2009 and Dutch at the Jeroen Bosch Institute in the Netherlands in 2010. I also learned Portuguese on my own during time spent in Brazil. I hold certificates in English and Dutch as foreign languages, so I genuinely understand the challenges, frustrations, and rewards of learning to communicate in a new tongue.

I’ve been teaching French since 2020, starting with private tutoring during the pandemic and later working with private students from the French School of London (Winston Churchill). Over the past five years, I’ve helped many learners strengthen their French, always adapting lessons to their goals, pace, and personality.

Alongside teaching, I am also a musician and singer, and I love bringing creativity, expression, and joy into my lessons.

I know how difficult language learning can feel, and I’m committed to creating a welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable environment for every student. I can’t wait to share my love of languages and help you on your journey with French!
