Beginners level 3 with Vicki in Whitstable Tuesday evening

So happy I took the plunge

I am really enjoying learning French at the beginner level with a lovely group of people and our very patient teacher Vicki. She teaches in a relaxed fun way but at the same time challenges me. I do feel like I am learning and more importantly gaining in confidence. I’m looking forward to the next term and am so happy I took the plunge and started learning French.

Vicki's support has given me a lot more confidence

What I love about this type of learning is that Vicki works at the pace of the class and allows us to engage in different conversations so we get to really understand the content . The classes are the perfect size with 10 learners which allows us to be relaxed and happy to help each other . The online platform to helps reinforce what we learnt in the classroom. My French has definitely improved and Vicki's support has given me a lot more confidence to use the language. I definitely recommend it as a fun way to learn.

Friendly and supportive

Vicki makes the lessons informal, fun and sociable. I am never felt to feel embarrassed or put on the spot - instead, as the whole class is encouraged to talk in French to each other at the same, you don't worry others are listening to your mistakes! The group have all been so friendly and supportive. I really look forward to my lesson, and the on-line tutorials are excellent too. I would recommend this class to anyone wishing to improve their conversational French.

I started classes with Vicki not having studied French since school over 40 years ago and in a few terms she has got us to a very decent level. Great teacher

Fun class with good course materials and content which has really progressed my French ready for a long delayed French holiday. A friendly group of fellow pupils and a great teacher in Vicki with lots of humour along the way. Whether indoors, in a marquee outside, or on Zoom, as we contended with Covid restrictions, it continued to go well.

Relaxed and informal

This is a lovely way to learn a language. The format provides a relaxed and informal atmosphere, very conducive to learning, whilst at the same time providing a useful and necessary foundation of the language. Students can learn at their own pace with no pressure to do homework. There are also complimentary on-line sessions to reinforce lessons. This course would appeal to people whose aim is to gain confidence in being able to converse generally. It is suitable for all ages and of course, benefits from an excellent tutor, Vicki.

If like me you are one of those people who did French at school a long time ago and find you are rather rusty when it comes to actually speaking French on holiday then this is for you! Whether you are rusty like me or a complete beginner Vicki's classes are fun, friendly, informative and completely relaxed. She explains things really well and gets your confidence up with good explanations and a good set of notes to take away for reference. Would highly recommend !

Tremendous fun in Whitstable

It's tremendous fun! We are a friendly and happy group. Vicki guides us through the complexities of learning French with enthusiasm and great patience. We all make mistakes but never ever feel silly. I like the warm up games which get us all thinking and ready to tackle the new lesson! Sometimes we're having such a good time we over-run the time slot. The core of our group have been together for a couple of years and it is really fun.

Sociable small groups

The Language for Fun course is a relaxed learning environment where we feel comfortable practising key phrases in our less-than-perfect French. The small group is a friendly informal setting which encourages our learning through listening, repetition and conversation. Our tutor Vicki is very knowledgeable and answers our many questions about the French language and culture. The course materials are a great resource for our revision and reference, neatly stored in a supplied folder. As well as an effective learning experience it's also sociable and a great way to meet people.
