Portuguese for Fun in St Albans

At We are M and N, we believe languages are learnt not just in the classroom but through living and experiences. We teach using the Language for Fun methodology in small, supportive groups, and we create extra opportunities to practise and immerse, from HUB events to trips abroad so learning continues beyond the classroom.

We offer a range of levels of morning and evening classes, and with our experience we can help you find a class that suits you.

Jo is our Portuguese tutor, she is native and offer a welcoming fun approach ideal for you to feel comfortable and embrace your learning journey. More information about the tutors can be found at the bottom of this page.

All our current classes are listed below, however if there is a lesson that you can’t find or times don’t suit, send us an email and we will put you on our waiting list.

ABOUT Language for fun: it offers fun, stress-free lessons with no exams and no compulsory homework in relaxed but highly structured and effective classes, where a large part of the lesson is spent talking to other learners in the target language. Our conversations have been created specifically for adults, and we endeavour to create a welcoming atmosphere to ensure that everyone feels at ease and able to join in.

I am Jo, and I am a French-Portuguese native Tutor, with 25 years of experience. I am originally from Paris (but both my parents are Portuguese) and I have been living in England for quite some time...
I am a very patient, friendly & experienced teacher, passionate about traveling, cooking and learning languages. I like to share my culture and interact with people from different cultures.

I Speak four languages fluently (English, French, Portuguese & Spanish)

2. Book onto a course that's convenient for you

If you don't see the perfect course for you, scroll to the bottom of the page to find your nearest language schools and ask the local franchisee if they could start a class on a day or time to suit you.

3. Start your exciting new journey

Some of our learners have been with us for 15 years! Be patient with yourself - the process of learning a language is never complete but each term you should be that bit more confident to use your newfound skills and get the most out of your travels.

I was very apprehensive about having Spanish lessons via Zoom, but my family persuaded me. I have to say, I am so glad I did! I can see my classmates and catch up with their news. This is the fourth stage of our Language for Fun lessons with Louise - we have enjoyed them tremendously. The lessons have refreshed what I vaguely remember learning at school, plus we have learned so much more. Learn lot and no homework

French for Fun lives up to its name! We learn French phrases which you would use every day, in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. I could not recommend the courses more highly if you would like to improve your French conversation and listening skills quickly - without actually having to do any homework!

I have just got back from Majorca. I had several almost normal conversations to the point where the lady in the gift shop refused to use English, forcing me to use Spanish (which I did quite well if I say so myself!) Practice without being put on the spot

Always in a relaxed atmosphere, the classes are light and fun, but you are learning all the time. Small groups are really good and you always get a chance to practice something but without being put on the spot.
