Welcome to Language for Fun and Italian for Fun in Chorlton, Sale and Stretford. We are a small, locally run language school and we pride ourselves on the personal approach. When you enquire about learning Italian with us,we talk to you personally and help you choose the best course, from Italian beginners to Italian Improvers or Advanced Italian.

Our Italian courses are run in groups that are much smaller than other colleges. We have a highly structured curriculum which has been specifically designed for adult learners who want to learn Italian for fun as a hobby, and we focus on speaking and communication skills. You don't have to do homework unless you want to, and we are convinced that making friends and enjoying the social side is just as important as the progress you make.

Many of our groups end up as long term friends.

Our Italian Beginners course is perfect if you've never done any Italian before, but there are also the right courses for those who have done GCSE Italian or (O Level of course) and need to dust it off a bit! We go right through with our own bespoke curriculum to Advanced and beyond so there's something for you even if you are a hardened Italian speaker and want some advanced Italian conversation classes.

If you can't find the exact Italian lessons you want advertised on our course listings, do get in touch as we have waiting lists for the less popular courses and also some availability for private Italian classes.

I look forward to hearing from you in the hope that we can be a part of your Italian speaking journey!

Hi, I'm Rosie and I love languages!

I have an Honours Degree in Italian and Spanish, and an MA in Translation Studies. I have spent the last ten years or so working as an Italian and Spanish translator whilst raising my children.

Before this I spent 3 years living in Sicily, Italy, teaching English to both adults and children, and several months living in Andalucia, Spain also teaching English.

I am fascinated by the Italian and Spanish cultures, and I love sharing my passion for these beautiful languages and cultures with others, through teaching.

I also know what it's like to be on the other side, and learn a completely new language from nothing. In school I only learnt German, so I studied French and Spanish from scratch in sixth form college, and Italian from scratch at university.

I know what it's like to feel like a fish out of water and not understand a single word. I also know the buzz that it gives you when you start to understand and be understood in a foreign language. It's a feeling like no other. I can't wait to help my learners experience that too!
