Sadly we have to defer all our French classes until after Easter, due to the current health situation. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon!

Welcome to Language For Fun French in Sutton and Tamworth!

We offer fun, stress-free lessons with no exams and no compulsory homework in relaxed but highly structured and effective classes, where a large part of the lesson is spent talking to other learners. Our conversations have been created specifically for adults and we try to create a dinner party/coffee morning atmosphere, where we make sure that everyone feels at ease and is able to join in! Group numbers are kept small to allow everyone to play an active part in classes.

If you'd like to find out more about our programme please get in touch, and either come along to one of our free taster sessions or alternatively you could pop along to an existing class to see how it works. We understand that joining a language class can be daunting - let us help you take the first step to learning a new language or brushing up on an existing one.

School exchanges to France and Spain ignited a lifelong passion for learning other languages and cultures, which I continue to share enthusiastically.
A degree in Modern Languages (Spanish and French) and Marketing Studies led to a work placement in Barcelona, which I still feel is my second home. My first career in banking made me realise how much I missed languages so I trained as a teacher in Adult Education, teaching Spanish to adults whilst my children were young (and taking Italian as a hobby!).
When the opportunity arose to work in schools, I grabbed the opportunity and gained experience in many different schools with children from 5 – 18.
Having joined Language For Fun as a Tutor I was so impressed that I soon became a licensee. I love helping people discover the fun side of learning languages! I look forward to meeting you - Sharon x

I am a fully trained teacher of MFL at Secondary level and have a lifetime passion for languages. At University I studied French but, desperate to learn Spanish, after graduation I moved out to Mexico City and worked there for over 3 years - talk about total immersion!!! Before I retrained as a teacher I worked for L’Oreal in Public Relations for nearly a decade and travelled all over the world. Now based back in my hometown of Sutton Coldfield, I love nothing more than to spend my summers in Brittany with my family. Tutoring for Language for Fun doesn’t feel like work to me and I really enjoy the structure of the lessons and the lovely atmosphere in class.

Salut !
I’m Jemma and I am very excited about joining the Language for Fun family. I have always had a passion for languages and after completing my degree in French and Italian I have been fortunate enough to study and work in both of these beautiful countries. I love it when I learn new words and phrases and I love sharing this with learners.
For the past 13 years I have taught French, Spanish and Italian to learners of all ages from 7 – Adult. In 2015 I completed my Masters in Education research and focused on how to make lessons more engaging and ways to get the most out learners. The Language for Fun teaching methodology is an excellent example of this, as it teaches languages in a fun and supportive way, which allows learners to build confidence and learn at their own pace. I look forward to beginning French with you soon – get in touch now, with Sharon, and come along to a free lesson.
