Welcome to Language for Fun and French for Fun in Cheltenham. We are a small, locally run language school and we pride ourselves on the personal approach. When you enquire about learning French with us, we talk to you personally and help you choose the best course, from French beginners to French Improvers or Advanced French. We won't just make you sign up online and take your money in advance - we'll let you pay for just one class and then you can decide if you want to carry on.
Our French courses in Cheltenham are run in groups that are much smaller than other colleges. We have a highly structured curriculum which has been specifically designed for adult learners who want to learn French for fun as a hobby, and we focus on speaking and communication skills. You don't have to do homework unless you want to, and we are convinced that making friends and enjoying the social side is just as important as the progress you make.
Many of our groups end up as long term friends.
Our French Beginners course is perfect if you've never done any French before, but there are also the right courses for those who have done GCSE French or (O Level of course) and need to dust it off a bit! We go right through with our own bespoke curriculum to Advanced and beyond so there's something for you even if you are a hardened Francophile and want some advanced French conversation classes.

Bonjour/Ciao/¡Hola! I’m French-Italian and I speak Spanish. Growing up on the French Riviera near Italy sparked my love for languages. I studied Music and Languages then moved to the UK. After successfully using my languages in Banking and IT, I became a language teacher and have been teaching for the past 20 years. I am cheerful, patient and enthusiastic. I am good at helping people of all levels overcome their fear of speaking a foreign language, focusing on building confidence and having fun.
Holidays are spent in France, Italy or Spain with my husband and our two boys, who are brought up bilingually in French but are also learning Spanish and Italian.
Sometimes at home, if we don't want the kids to understand something, we speak in German to each other but unfortunately the kids manage to get the jist of it. We need to learn another "secret language"! On my list is Portuguese and Polish but I haven't started yet.
Search through our extensive range of courses to find the perfect course for you! Choose from Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate and Advanced courses.
If you don't see the perfect course for you, scroll to the bottom of the page to find your nearest language schools and ask the local franchisee if they could start a class on a day or time to suit you.
Some of our learners have been with us for 15 years! Be patient with yourself - the process of learning a language is never complete but each term you should be that bit more confident to use your newfound skills and get the most out of your travels.
