Spanish - Beginner

I have studied 2 terms of conversational Spanish and I am so happy that I did. I knew a little to begin with and have really grown in confidence thanks to Christianne's fun and clear teaching.

I loved the class it was fun and I learnt new things - roleplaying was most powerful

I always wanted to take up French again after completing a GCSE through an evening class many years ago. So, when I retired I bit the bullet and signed up for classes with Christianne. I did speak to her first because by the passage of time, I was a ‘beginner’ and it was important to be with people of a similar standard. Christianne was very reassuring on this point. My fellow learners are all very supportive, and we learn in a very convivial atmosphere, have fun and laughs along the way. At the same time we are learning and improving and I cannot believe how much French I actually spoke to my French friends when we were with them last summer. Indeed they were very complimentary about my efforts. My advice- don’t hesitate if it’s something you really want to do. It does require some homework and effort but not so much that it becomes a chore. Christianne is not only a delightful person and an excellent teacher but a very good communicator and always willing to give her time in supporting your learning.

Just over a year ago I joined Christianna's class. Although joining an established group I was immediately made to feel welcome. I had tried a Spanish evening class before but this was totally different, I found I was learning and retaining information whilst having fun! I look forward to the class every week! Thank you.

I originally started learning Spanish at a local college but I couldn’t seem to retain much of what was being taught so I decided to attend Christianne’s classes at The Red Carpet Cinema and, as a result, I can now go on holiday to Spain and actually understand the locals and I can, mostly, make myself understood. Christianne has given me the courage to chat when I am away on holiday and to my Spanish friends who attend my flamenco dance classes. I have been attending Christianne’s classes for two terms but have learned so much in such a short time and all whilst having great fun and making new friends. I can highly recommend Christianne’s classes, so much so that when I can’t attend a class I really miss it and her!

Learning Spanish hasn’t been easy but it has always been fun. When I first joined Christianne I knew very little Spanish, only the odd important words picked up on holiday such as - ‘Ola, dos Cervezas, por favor’ (Two beers, please) ‘Buenos Dias’ (Good Day) ... since joining I have found my knowledge and confidence has grown significantly. The approach to learning is relaxed, whilst still getting you to think, and challenging without making you feel self confident/embarrassed. I love travelling to Spain and never miss an opportunity to have a conversation in Spanish (even if I don’t always get it right). If you want to learn/improve your Spanish I highly recommend Christianne’s classes. You will have lots of fun, meet new friends and challenge yourself too.

Language learning with Christianne is never dull or boring. She is a light hearted and enthusiastic teacher whose sense of fun is infectious and never far from the surface. The lessons are cleverly constructed to build confidence while expanding only the essential points necessary for light hearted conversation and interaction within the group. Will “nos voisins Français” understand – we will soon find out! This is by far the easiest and most enjoyable learning journey I have ever taken.

Learning Spanish seemed like a daunting task, however, after attending classes with Christianne, she has enabled me, coached me and given me the confidence to hold conversations in Spanish. Christianne makes it fun to learn, in a way that is clear, logical and effective. ¡Es fantástico!

I have been attending Spanish Language for Fun for two terms now after previously attending a night school course at college that I wasn’t very impressed with. I have learnt so much more with Christianne and have lots of fun whilst learning. I can’t believe how much more information that I retain during her lessons. I am currently on holiday in Spain and I am astounded at how much Spanish I am using and I feel so much more confident when talking to Spanish people (especially as they can understand me!). I would thoroughly recommend Language for Fun with Christianne, believe me you will definitely have FUN!

Hi Lovely, My only feedback for someone like me who is so time critical, it's a massive positive doing it via zoom. Less time having to drive etc. However I do love people contact! And miss that but I don't think it stopped any ability to mix. Especially having the breakout room so you get to know people a little more one to one. For me I only have positive vibes about it xx
