Welcome to Language for Fun Burton on Trent and the nationwide Language for Fun Community
Refreshers “Para Mí” (Spanish)
This course is suitable for people who can handle simple situations, have basic conversations about themselves, and find out information from others. You may have already learned the past or future tenses but this course is an opportunity to consolidate some of the trickier aspects of Spanish that you might have come across, including some confusing verbs in the present tense, por and para, and ser and estar. By the end of the course you will be able to:
-talk about what you like to do at the weekend and on holiday
-talk about your lifestyle, habits and daily routine
-talk about your pets
-talk about your language learning habits and what else you love
-use the present tense with confidence and become familiar with important irregulars
Contact me to reserve a space on your first session (even if we are mid-term – that’s ok!) and find out more about why our courses are a tried and tested, effective way or to learn a new language or improve your existing skills.
It’s fun, sociable, relaxed and no one is put on the spot. We will help you to read, listen to and most importantly speak your chosen language in a supportive, relaxed environment. We will throw in a tiny bit of writing too just to help you remember what you have learnt and give you materials to look back on.
This is an informal but structured way of learning with opportunities to put into practise what you have learnt between classes with access to our online support videos and short quizzes.
Share your enthusiasm and enhance your travel experiences.
I look forward to hearing from you!
"Hola" , "Bonjour"
My love for languages began as a youngster when I would imitate different accents and read my Mum’s Spanish night class books - trying out my little phrases on family holidays to Spain! I then loved learning French at school and so studying French and Spanish at University seemed like the natural next step. I spent a year living and studying in Lyon and Barcelona and was lucky enough to work as a translator at the 1992 Olympics. Whilst working in logistics, pharmaceuticals and marketing, speaking a couple of languages always came in handy but sharing my enthusiasm for language and culture has always been my passion so I qualified as a French and Spanish teacher and worked in Secondary schools. I discovered Language for Fun in 2016 and haven't looked back. I love helping my learners gain in confidence, have fun and share their love for the language and culture via a brilliantly structured course. I look forward to meeting you! :-)
