those who know the basics of French such as how to introduce yourself and ask for things in a shop. This course moves on to asking for directions in town and more useful topics if travelling to France. With this course, you will be dealing with the topic of Town/Village.

Classes are small and friendly, with a concentration on useful vocabulary and having short conversations on the topics. By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • ask for and give basic directions
  • say what there is / there are, using “il y a”
  • ask and say what time things open
  • find out information about bus times
  • order food in a restaurant
  • use simple verbs in the present tense, such as “I go, I have”
  • say what I like and dislike

        Lessons will take place on the following Wednesdays:
15th January, 22nd January, 29th January, 12th February, 26th February, 5th March, 19th March, 26th March, 2nd April and 9th April 2025.

Bonjour/Ciao/¡Hola! I’m French-Italian and I speak Spanish. Growing up on the French Riviera near Italy sparked my love for languages. I studied Music and Languages then moved to the UK. After successfully using my languages in Banking and IT, I became a language teacher and have been teaching for the past 20 years. I am cheerful, patient and enthusiastic. I am good at helping people of all levels overcome their fear of speaking a foreign language, focusing on building confidence and having fun.

Holidays are spent in France, Italy or Spain with my husband and our two boys, who are brought up bilingually in French but are also learning Spanish and Italian.

Sometimes at home, if we don't want the kids to understand something, we speak in German to each other but unfortunately the kids manage to get the jist of it. We need to learn another "secret language"! On my list is Portuguese and Polish but I haven't started yet.
