This course is suitable for learners who have GCSE or O/A level in the language and can remember most of the grammar (including past present and future tenses). If you can make yourself understood in most situations, and can talk about your daily life reasonably fluently but would like to move on to more complex language and improve your fluency, this course is for you.
After finishing High School in the small city where I was born in the North-East of Italy, my desire to leave and discover the world was huge. The first step toward this discovery was moving to Venice, where I studied Languages, Civilizations and Science of Language. These studies raised my knowledge about specific processes regarding language learning and teaching.
During my experiences abroad (in Spain and in the USA), I put into practice this knowledge by teaching Italian and English both to children and adults. Those experiences gave me the chance to appreciate the Italian culture even more and let people know that it is more than a ‘pizza’ and ‘ciao bella’.
When I moved to London to complete my Masters degree in Sociocultural Linguistics, I knew I wanted to continue to transmit Italian language and culture. I believe that teaching is an exchange: the tutor and the student, as equals, have equal amounts to share and learn from each other. I love the way that classes at Language for Fun are designed to guide people through the discovery of language in a lively, active and funny way. With this vision in mind, the message I always try to transmit is that language is the most powerful tool that we have and that learning and speaking a different language is a bit like opening your mind to new worlds and new possibilities. I hope you join me on this journey.
