French - Beginner
This course is ideal for:
Beginners 1 is the perfect starting point if you’re completely new to French or want a friendly refresher of the basics. This course will help you build essential vocabulary and simple sentence structures so you can begin speaking French with confidence from day one.
This term’s theme is “All About Me!” – you’ll learn how to greet people, say where you’re from, introduce yourself, say what you have and how you are, understand simple questions, and talk about days, weeks, and months.
Lessons are relaxed and informal, with a strong focus on communication and plenty of opportunities to practise speaking in a supportive group.
First session is commitment-free!
New learners are welcome to join at any time – if you join part-way through the term, you’ll only pay for the remaining lessons.

Bonjour! I’m Florence – welcome to Language for Fun in Guisborough, where you can build your confidence in French in a relaxed, friendly environment.
I’m originally from Brittany, France, and I’m a qualified, experienced teacher with a passion for helping adults enjoy learning and speaking French — whatever your starting point. I love making French feel accessible, and I believe everyone can have real conversations, even without being perfect!
