French - Intermediate
This course is ideal for:
Fun, relaxed, sociable, French conversation groups that will get you talking and laughing in french. Maximum 12 learners in a group.
This term we will continue with our adjusted script, conversation practice and revision of the passé composé. We will continue revising the future and present tenses too and encounter the imperfect tense for the first time.

Bonjour! My name is Jo and I will be teaching the Monday evening classes in Godalming.
My life-long love of France and all things French began many years ago, aged 8, when, after a slightly nerve-wracking night sail across the Channel in my parents' 32 foot sailing boat, we moored up in the beautiful Normandy port of Honfleur. A quick trip to the nearby boulangerie for a well-earned petit-déjeuner (pains au chocolat and croissants, of course!) and uttering a nervous 'bonjour' and 'merci' was just the start of my appreciation of everything the country has to offer culturally, linguistically, gastronomically and more! A GCSE, A-level and degree in the language soon followed.
I really enjoy sharing my passion for learning languages and have taught English abroad to adults both in France (in the historic city of Poitiers) and in Japan. Now, after many years working as a senior civil servant in London, I have re-trained as a secondary school languages teacher and am currently loving inspiring a love of languages in the next generation. Patience, fun and gentle encouragement are all qualities I aim to bring to the classroom and I'm very much looking forward to supporting you on the next stage of your languages for fun journey.
