This course is ideal for:

Almost complete beginners or the very rusty/lacking in confidence. This course will take you through French from the basics onwards, and you’ll be having simple conversations from week one. Romane Le Vine (who is half-French) is beloved by our learners for her lively and supportive teaching style. Don’t worry – this is NOTHING like being back at school and you’ll be making progress in no time.

Beginner - Beginners 1 Course Information

Starting Date: 04/08/2025

Lesson Duration: 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

Beginner classes starting Monday 4 August for five weeks, with no class on Monday 18 August. This short course includes five weeks' worth of lessons and covers the second half of Beginners 1 French. The last class is on 8 September (so classes will be on 4, 11 & 25 August, and 1 & 8 September). At the end of this short course, there will be an opportunity to sign up for a full term of Beginners 2 French (September 15 onwards).

About

Bonjour and hola! I'm Romane and I've been a languages tutor since I discovered my passion for teaching in 2014. I learned French from my bilingual parents and spent many summers at my grandparents' place in the Auvergne, soaking up the French culture as well as the sun. I learned Spanish at secondary school for 7 years and knew that I wanted to turn my love of linguistics and extroverted personality into a career. Chatting and making friends has been my motivation for learning languages ever since I was thrust into a maternelle class in Lille at the age of 5; I can't wait to meet you all and watch your confidence grow using the LFF method.

Romane has a lovely teaching style

I take part in the weekly Spanish for Fun class, currently held on Zoom. The class is run by Romane and we are a small group of four ladies. Romane makes the class interesting and absorbing. The material used is really easy to follow. The lessons are staggered sufficiently to allow time for the processing of material. Romane has a lovely teaching style. She is very encouraging to all and will happily repeat anything which is not fully understood. As the course name implies it makes learning both enjoyable and fun. I look forward to Tuesday mornings now.
