French - Beginner
This course is ideal for:
Those who have done a bit of French before and can remember basic greetings, ordering in restaurants and shopping. You want to start from basic conversation but not right from the beginning, focusing on real-life conversations. Please send an enquiry if you would like to check which level would be best for you.

I have loved languages since childhood, when holidays were spent camping throughout Europe and trying to communicate with children of all nationalities, often through shared English popular songs!
I went on to study French and Spanish at Durham University, after which I was a primary school teacher for many years. There, I would ask children who spoke languages other than English, to teach me a few phrases in their language, which kept me aware of the challenges of learning a brand new language. I also kept up my skills with British Council teacher exchanges to France, as well as regular trips to Europe to visit friends and spend holidays.
Since leaving school teaching, I am thoroughly enjoying tutoring for Language for Fun, and the relaxed, enjoyable method of language learning, so different to how learners would have been taught in school.
