Classes will take place online via Zoom and printed materials will be posted out to you.
This course is suitable for learners who have studied the language beyond GCSE or A Level, and can hold their own in most every day conversations with native speakers. Through a month-by-month look at a typical year in France, you will broaden your cultural knowledge, as well as improving your listening skills and developing confidence in speaking.
Expect lots of opportunities to practise spoken French – without the safety net of a tried-and-tested structure. If you visit France a lot, your classmates will want to hear all about it!
This class will run every Thursday evening from 16th January for 10 weeks excluding Thursday 20th February (half term).
The course costs £130 including printed materials. To secure your place, please pay a deposit of £50. I kindly request that full fees are paid before the first lesson.
I am passionate about languages and studied French and Spanish at Cambridge University. I am now a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher at secondary level and have experience of teaching primary level languages all the way up to A level.
I love visiting new places and have spent time travelling around and volunteering in South America. Whenever I go to a new place I always try to have a go at the local language and can often be found clutching my phrase book with a look of polite terror as the person I am talking to replies to my question at top speed! As a result I am able to empathise with learners who feel nervous about speaking in front of others or who have had similar experiences with languages on holiday.
Whether you are starting from scratch, dusting off your high school French and Spanish or perfecting your language skills, Language for Fun classes provide a supportive and relaxed environment to learn and have fun. I hope you will join us!
