suitable for learners who are completely new to French or who may have been teaching themselves with the famous app for a little while! This course starts with the basics: hello, goodbye, what’s your name; but builds up quickly to short conversations based on your real life. By the end of the course you will be able to:
After having completed this level, learners typically move on to the Beginners 2 course, which deals with being in a town, directions etc.
Whilst you will not become fluent in French with only ten lessons, you will certainly gain enough confidence to start talking in French, using everything you will have learned. This is a very useful course as a starting point.
Bonjour/Ciao/¡Hola! I’m French-Italian and I speak Spanish. Growing up on the French Riviera near Italy sparked my love for languages. I studied Music and Languages then moved to the UK for 9 months, and several decades later, I'm still here!
After successfully using my languages in Banking and IT, I became a language teacher and have been teaching for the past 20+ years. I am cheerful, patient and enthusiastic. I am good at helping people of all levels overcome their fear of speaking a foreign language, focusing on building confidence and having fun.
Holidays are spent in France, Italy or Spain with my husband and our two boys, who are brought up bilingually in French but are also learning Spanish and Italian.
I sing in my spare time, walk the dog, look after friends' dogs and grow plants, usually fruit and veg. I love foraging so my children are used to eating "spinach" of dubious provenance. I also teach GCSE and A Level to whomever needs a boost with their exams.
