French - Beginner
This course is ideal for:
For real beginners or the truly terrified, starting with 1,2,3 and building up quickly to short conversations linked to your real life.
We will learn how to greet people, introduce ourselves, say a little about jobs and families, say basic phrases to buy things in shops, order food in restaurants and learn days and months.
Fiona will gently guide you and you’ll soon have the confidence to have a go at basic French conversations!

I have always loved learning languages and about other cultures from a young age. After a school trip to France, I decided to study Modern Languages (French and German) at university. As part of my degree, I had the opportunity to spend a year in France as an “assistante” in a French school near Paris. Paris remains my favourite city to this day although I have visited many other parts of France. I communicate regularly with a French friend I have known since those early days.
Later, when I moved to the Midlands, the opportunity arose to teach French part-time to adults at a local college. I did this for many years whilst bringing up a young family but then moved away from language teaching as I progressed in my career. Most recently I decided to learn Spanish and enrolled with Language for Fun. I found the classes to be so relaxed and enjoyable, I decided I would like to share my love of French and France so applied to become a tutor. I looking forward to meeting you soon! Fiona
