those who are comfortable with holiday French and can speak French using the present tense. This course introduces the future tense so we can talk about what we are going to do. We use useful vocabulary and have fun conversations to develop confidence to speak French. All printed materials are provided and online exercises and videos help consolidate what we do in classes.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Talk about my holidays using the verb “to go”
  • Use the immediate future “je vais” to talk about holiday plans
  • Talk about where I live and say how long I’ve done something with “ça fait…”
  • Use possessive pronouns “my, your, his, her etc” to describe my family and find out about others’ families
  • Say how I feel with phrases that use “j’ai”
  • Use object pronouns “it, them” etc to buy clothes in a shop
  • Use the simple future tense to make an order in a shop and talk about my future plans

After this course, you may consider moving to S’amuser (Refresher course) or Ma Semaine (Improver 2 course).

        Lessons will take place on the following Thursdays:
16th January, 23rd January, 30th January, 13th February, 27th February, 6th March, 20th March, 27th March, 3rd April 2025 and 10th April 2025.

Bonjour/Ciao/¡Hola! I’m French-Italian and I speak Spanish. Growing up on the French Riviera near Italy sparked my love for languages. I studied Music and Languages then moved to the UK. After successfully using my languages in Banking and IT, I became a language teacher and have been teaching for the past 20 years. I am cheerful, patient and enthusiastic. I am good at helping people of all levels overcome their fear of speaking a foreign language, focusing on building confidence and having fun.

Holidays are spent in France, Italy or Spain with my husband and our two boys, who are brought up bilingually in French but are also learning Spanish and Italian.

Sometimes at home, if we don't want the kids to understand something, we speak in German to each other but unfortunately the kids manage to get the jist of it. We need to learn another "secret language"! On my list is Portuguese and Polish but I haven't started yet.
