This course will run face-to-face in Birkdale.

This course is suitable for people who have done a little bit of Italian before (maybe on Duolingo!).  The class has already covered numbers and talking a little bit about themselves. This is a conversation-based course and there are no exams or compulsory homework. This term we will look at the topic ‘around town’ and learn about things like directions and eating out in Italy.

The course will start on Tuesday 16th April 2024 and run for 9 more weeks with a break for half term (28th May). The course costs £150 for 10 x 75 min lessons. Please pay a deposit of £50 to reserve your place. I kindly ask that full fees are paid before the first class of the term.

What's included?
  • 10 x 75 minute classes
  • All printed resources (no need to buy a book as well)
  • Access to our Virtual Learning Environment with revision quizzes and videos

About

I am passionate about languages and studied French and Spanish at Cambridge University. I am now a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher at secondary level and have experience of teaching primary level languages all the way up to A level.

I love visiting new places and have spent time travelling around and volunteering in South America. Whenever I go to a new place I always try to have a go at the local language and can often be found clutching my phrase book with a look of polite terror as the person I am talking to replies to my question at top speed! As a result I am able to empathise with learners who feel nervous about speaking in front of others or who have had similar experiences with languages on holiday.

Whether you are starting from scratch, dusting off your high school French and Spanish or perfecting your language skills, Language for Fun classes provide a supportive and relaxed environment to learn and have fun. I hope you will join us!
