Language for Fun really makes brushing up on my school French fun. So glad I joined the small Intermediate French class which is taught on Zoom in a relaxed, fun and engaging way. Breakout rooms with small groups or a partner are an ideal way of encouraging people to speak, listen and to get to know each other. Next best thing to the real-life experience. Jemma makes lessons interactive and varied, she brings in new handouts and exercises to complement the original materials. Chunks of additional vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and a bit of grammar appear in the right quantities at the right time, encouraging me to build upon and use what I have learnt in class. My confidence has grown as a result. I feel very enthusiastic about it all and now try and watch as many French series on TV as possible. Looking forward to new classes this year and, fingers crossed, a trip to France in the summer.

Hi Lovely, My only feedback for someone like me who is so time critical, it's a massive positive doing it via zoom. Less time having to drive etc. However I do love people contact! And miss that but I don't think it stopped any ability to mix. Especially having the breakout room so you get to know people a little more one to one. For me I only have positive vibes about it xx

Ruth is a fantastic teacher - so welcoming and funny! We have learnt so much in our beginners lessons thus far and look forward to the class each week. She has adapted to working over zoom amazingly over the pandemic and encourages everyone in the class to get involved without putting any pressure on. We are able to break out into rooms to have practice conversations with others in the group, this is a great way to learn the vocabulary and also a good way to get to know people in the group. Highly recommend getting involved with Language for Fun.

I love my French classes with Ruth! She’s a brilliant teacher, always encouraging, great with praise and you feel confident enough to give everything a go because her classes feel like a friendly & safe space! She helps everyone individually when they need it and she always responds to my emails if I want her to check something for me ahead of the class. If you’re looking to learn or improve on a language, I recommend Ruth 110%!

Ruth is a great teacher. I was a total beginner and Ruth has made me feel so welcome and her style of teaching is excellent. I feel really comfortable in her classes and I look forward to them. Thank you Ruth for giving me the confidence to continue. I highly recommend!

I love our French classes in Whitstable. The teaching is well prepared and delivered but most of all fun! Vicki's delivery hits the spot. I feel I have really progressed since joining this group who are a great bunch of people.

Its tremendous fun! We are a friendly and happy group. Vicki guides us through the complexities of learning French with enthusiasm and great patience. We all make mistakes but never ever feel silly. I like the warm up games which get us all thinking and ready to tackle the new lesson! Sometimes we're having such a good time we over-run the time slot. The core of our group have been together for a couple of years and it is really fun.

Really enjoying French for Fun in Whitstable every Friday. A very relaxed way to improve your French but at the same time, it’s definitely stretching me, which is what I need! Recommended!

I really enjoy my French Friday lessons with Vicki and the people I've met through the sessions. Vicki is a very good teacher, explaining the information clearly and in a positive, relaxed atmosphere. The lessons are fun but at the same time the course has really stretched my understanding of the language. I would definitely recommend it.

I was very apprehensive about having Spanish lessons via zoom, but my family persuaded me saying it would be foolish to give up, and carrying on would be good for me during the lockdown. I have to say I am so glad I did! I can see my classmates and catch up with their news. Even though it’s not quite the same as meeting for coffee at the Dog and Partridge it’s still good fun. I have nothing but praise for Louise she has put so much into making it all work. The lessons are great - we get through a lot of work but have fun at the same time. Louise is also very generous with her time and with help of her lovely family we had a great quiz before starting the new term. I would highly recommend Louise to anyone wanting to learn Spanish
