Hi, I'm Rosie and I love languages!

I have an Honours Degree in Italian and Spanish, and an MA in Translation Studies. I have spent the last ten years or so working as an Italian and Spanish translator whilst raising my children.

Before this I spent 3 years living in Sicily, Italy, teaching English to both adults and children, and several months living in Andalucia, Spain also teaching English.

I am fascinated by the Italian and Spanish cultures, and I love sharing my passion for these beautiful languages and cultures with others, through teaching.

I also know what it's like to be on the other side, and learn a completely new language from nothing. In school I only learnt German, so I studied French and Spanish from scratch in sixth form college, and Italian from scratch at university.

I know what it's like to feel like a fish out of water and not understand a single word. I also know the buzz that it gives you when you start to understand and be understood in a foreign language. It's a feeling like no other. I can't wait to help my learners experience that too!

Bonjour!

I am French graduate and have lived in France at various stages of my life - mainly in Paris, Strasbourg and Nancy. I love the language and culture of this beautiful country and visit friends there regularly. I have spent most of my life in the field of communication, starting out as a journalist and public relations specialist, before launching a career in higher education. Seven years ago I changed career path and began teaching French in local primary schools. By chance - at the request of some parents - I opened a small informal adult french class and found the experience extremely rewarding, as well as lot of fun....and the rest is history! I continue to teach children from as young as 5, but I also enjoy the variety of sharing my passion for this lovely language with groups of enthusiastic adults.
Whatever your motivation - holidays, business, moving to France, or just the pure enjoyment of learning a language, Language for Fun classes are designed to meet your needs.

Bonjour! I’m Jo and I have spent more years than I care to remember playing around with and enjoying learning languages. I am a qualified adult education tutor and a French graduate who lived and taught for a while in central France. I also taught English as a Foreign Language for a while which gave me a great insight into how the English language works.
I just love the French language though and I get back to France whenever I can to climb, walk or bike, feel some sunshine and simply to surround myself with the sounds of the language and French life. I’ve been teaching French now for about 7 years and never tire of it. Language is forever changing and I just love its quirks and idiosyncrasies.
I know just what it’s like learning a new language too– I’ve been trying to learn Greek of late as a complete beginner and it’s not easy remembering all the new vocab and grammar. But it does get easier and I do get a buzz when I manage to say something that is understood!
This course focuses on modern everyday spoken French so brilliant for giving you the confidence to speak when on holiday, working or moving out to live in France.

My name's Lucy and I'm a local lass with a passion for languages. From an early age I remember feeling awestruck listening to foreign languages whilst on holiday with family. I was always fascinated by mysterious, incomprehensible words and set out to learn them at the first available opportunity. After my A levels I was lucky enough to gain a place on Manchester University's sought-after undergraduate masters course, where I gained a double masters degree in French and Spanish (with a smattering of Portuguese). Alongside my studies I was lucky enough to live and work in both Paris in the hotel industry and in Spain for Sevilla Football Club.

After leaving my subsequent career in the legal world to have a family, teaching has been a thrilling new venture for me and I have had the honour of teaching a wide variety of people over the past couple of years, from nervous GCSE and A level students to people wanting to take their holidays to the next level. I adore sharing my passion for languages with other people. Adults can often feel nervous at the prospect of starting something new, but students soon realise that it can give them a huge sense of achievement and satisfaction and, most importantly, be marvellous fun.
