Bonjour, je m’appelle Heather
I have recently returned to the Uk from France, having moved there over two decades ago.
A painter and art teacher by trade, since returning to the UK I have fallen in love with the art of teaching french. My own experience of learning the language was so enjoyable that upon resettling in the UK I chose to teach with the Language For Fun method specifically because it really is such fun and because it is very much angled towards making the learning enjoyable.
When I moved to France I had just a handful of basic words, like, please, thank you, hello, goodbye, house, baguette and bicycle! I spent 22 years there completely submerged in the culture, rarely speaking english and after having worked hard to be ignored during the few french lessons I was obliged to take at middle school I surprised everyone (myself included) by learning my french in situ, and without lessons and loving nearly every minute of it.
The happy result is that having made all the classic mistakes that English people make, I am now fully trained to help you avoid each and everyone of them.
When I’m not teaching french I can be found working with Iona (narrowboat) and Buddy (horse) down by the river or on my own narrowboat at little further up stream.
