Learners who already have some experience of Spanish and are comfortable using the present tense. This class will use real-life conversations to help your grammar, build your vocabulary and introduce the future tense.

        Improver - Level 1 Course Information

            9:45 am - 10:45 am          

        

        We will more or less follow the school terms for all classes. This term we will start Tuesday 19th September 2023 until Tuesday 5th December. We will break for half term for 2 weeks the week of the 23rd and 30th October 2023. (no classes Tuesdays 24th and 31st October)

Also, as we move through the levels and are now on to the Improver levels, we will do 1 lesson every 2 weeks to really consolidate what we are learning and to make sure we get to practice as much as possible with different people in the class. Also, if you miss one week, you will be able to catch up. 

This term is part 1 of Improver level 1 and the first 5 lessons in the course (lessons 1-5).

You can join the course at any time and you will be able to receive all lessons from the course, including any you miss. You will also have access to the online virtual environment to catch up digitally with anything from previous lessons. 

At this level, you should know a little Spanish already and would be able to integrate into the class without too many problems, however, you will be supported in any areas you need.

Hi! I’m Helen thanks for being interested in Spanish classes with Language for Fun on the Isle of Wight! I have a degree in International Development and Spanish language which I studied for later in life as a “mature” student. I truly believe in lifelong learning and the old adage that you’re never too late to start learning something new. I’d always been fascinated in languages and had a slight regret that I’d never developed my schoolgirl French so when I had the opportunity to learn Spanish as a beginner at university when I was 40 years old, not only did I take it, but I loved it! I ended up spending 4 years living and working in Spain and qualifying as an MFL Teacher. Learning Spanish literally changed my life! I started teaching Spanish locally to adults online during Covid, and now, I teach in-person classes on the Island. I can’t wait to help you start, or continue your own Spanish language journey. My classes are very informal, fun and relaxed, and focusing on conversation, you’ll soon build your knowledge and confidence alongside supportive and friendly like-minded people.
