This course is ideal for:

Rusty Beginners–learners who have some basic skills like counting, greetings and buying items. You will build up new vocabulary and create sentences that you will be able to use straight away in real life. We will cover the alphabet, how to ask for directions, directions for driving, how to tell the time and ordering food in a restaurant … and we will start to get to grips with verbs!

Beginner - Level 1 Course Information

Starting Date: 12/01/2021

Lesson Duration: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This class will be kept small so that when possible it can be held in person at The Owl. There will be a break for Half Term 16 February. When we are back face-to-face, please order a drink at the bar on arrival; food and snacks are also available and come highly recommended! Start and finish times may be flexible if necessary to fit in with school pick-up times.

¡Hola!
School exchanges to France and Spain ignited a lifelong passion for learning other languages and cultures, which I love to share. A degree in Modern Languages (Spanish and French) and Marketing Studies led to a work placement in Barcelona, which I still feel is my second home. My first career in banking made me realise how much I missed languages so I trained as a teacher in Adult Education, teaching Spanish to adults whilst my children were young (and taking Italian as a hobby!).
When the opportunity arose to work in schools, I grabbed the opportunity and gained experience in many different schools with children from 5 – 18.
Having joined Language For Fun as a Tutor I was so impressed that I soon became a licensee. I love helping people discover the fun side of learning languages! I look forward to meeting you - Sharon x

Fun!

My experience of Language For Fun has been just that - fun! Learning something new is always a challenge but our teacher helps us to learn in gentle steps without pressure or criticism, always adjusting the pace to our needs. The course material follows a theme each term which relates to everyday life and is useful when trying to speak Spanish... In normal times the social events enhance our learning and contribute to the enjoyment of belonging to the group.

Spanish lessons are great fun and we currently have fabulous zoom sessions ... We not only learn a new language but share experiences, have social events - when allowed -...and support each other.
