Welcome to French for Fun, Barnet, with Diane!
Learning a language can be fun! Our lessons are relaxed, with no exams or compulsory homework!
Group numbers are kept small (minimum 3 students, maximum 6 students) to allow everyone to play an active part in classes.
Although the atmosphere is relaxed, the classes are highly structured, including carefully prepared conversations which help you to make progress week by week.
The spring term starts January 13th, 2020. Students are welcome to join a group at any time, even if the course has already started, but please do contact us first to check that places are available.
If you are unsure which level would suit you best, we'd be happy to help and we can arrange free, informal assessments over coffee. If you would like to arrange an assessment and/or chat, please do get in touch by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. It is also possible to sit in on any class, by arrangement, to see if it would be right for you.
Each term consists of a block of 10 weekly lessons.
The spring term begins 13th January 2020, and will run for 10 consecutive weeks.

My name is Diane and I have been teaching language to adults for 30 years. I am a graduate of York University with a BA Honours degree in French and Linguistics and I also hold two adult teaching qualifications. I have been married to a Frenchman for 30 years and we have three bilingual children. We lived in France for 13 years, where I taught both French and English at the Chamber of Commerce in Normandy. The teaching there ranged from one-to-one training courses with Managing Directors, to group lessons with professional people. I have also taught English as a Foreign Language to adults at my local College of Further Education.
I aim to create an informal, stress-free environment in which learners can relax, socialise and become more confident French speakers - and have a lot of fun in the process!
I'm looking forward to welcoming you to my French for Fun classes.
