French - Beginner
This course is ideal for:
What we call our “rusty beginners” – learners who have some basic skills like counting, greetings and buying items. Also for those who have recently attended a Beginners 1 course or learnt a little French for example on holidays. You will build up new vocabulary and create sentences that you will be able to use straight away in real life.

Hello! If you’re looking for a fun way to improve your French, Language for Fun classes could be just right for you! We understand how important it is to have opportunities to practise speaking in classes without pressure to “get it right”. The Language for Fun method allows you to build confidence at your own pace while learning in a relaxed, friendly environment. There are excellent materials to support learning but no pressure to do homework or tests (unless you choose to). Through termly social events you will have the opportunity to meet like-minded learners and share your experiences of French language and culture. I personally love sharing and learning more about the language and culture with my students.
I first learned French at secondary school in England and later took up an opportunity to work as a midwife in a French-speaking environment in Switzerland. I loved it so much that I stayed for 5 years before returning to England. I quickly found that I really missed using my French so decided to complete my French degree and teacher training. For the past 12 years I have taught in schools and adult education while studying Spanish, Mandarin and Irish along the way (so I know how it feels to be a learner)!
