Welcome to Language For Fun!

Language for Fun French lessons have arrived in Chorleywood and are proving enormously popular. In fact, learning French has never been so entertaining. I run two daytime classes, which my students tell me they really look forward to. If only French had been like this at school!

It's not too late to join one of my classes in time to brush up your French for a winter break or for next summer. Our current term (of 9 classes) begins on Wednesday 11 October for Intermediate/Advanced and on Thursday 12 October for Improvers. Both classes end during the week of 11 December. If you don't know Chorleywood, it is on the Herts/Bucks border, 5 miles from both Watford and Amersham and just a few minutes' drive from J18 of the M25. The classes are just 5 minutes' walk from the shops and station.

My students so far are a wonderful combo of the sweet, the curious, the shy, the comical and the endearingly eccentric (rather like the cast of those marvellous Jacques Tati films). If you've enjoyed learning French in the past (and especially if you haven't), do give French For Fun a go. Why not contact me first on 07961 175626 or email: kathy.miller@btopenworld.com to try a free taster class? A bientôt!

Our Teachers

I read French and Spanish at University and taught English in France for 18 months, before spending more than 10 years as a freelance journalist on various newspapers and magazines and as a PR officer for both ITN and BBC Education, where I was also a researcher on foreign language courses. After my family, France and the French are the love of my life and amazingly - given that I am now the wrong side of 50 - my French gets better every time I visit friends there (though the wine helps).

It doesn't matter if you are a nervous beginner, a rusty returner or a reasonably confident speaker, I have a small, friendly class that will make you laugh every time and become the highlight of your week. My students' enthusiasm is so infectious! Whatever your reason for sharpening up your French (to enjoy the food, for business trips or even in the hope of a holiday romance), you will improve your pronunciation in just a few sessions and pick up many useful words and phrases that will really boost your confidence.
